Tamal's 2020 Hero are the Farmers

Tamal says: "Farmers have, I think, been the real heros during the pandemic. While doctors and nurses were saving lives, farmers had been sweating it out to provide food for us. Remember, the time was tough. Everyone was afraid of going out, but farmers put their lives at risk and kept the agriculture industry going so we never faced too much trouble buying food. Just imagine, what if they hadn't? India doesn't have enough storage to feed all its people. So, my tribute is to the farmers. This is a photo I took in the monsoon when a farmer was sowing rice seeds. The big hat he's wearing, known as 'toka' in Bengali, provides shade from the rain and sun.
